The weekend for St. Michael Parish was primarily planned for the parish religious education families with an emphasis placed upon families recreating with other families rather than just for teens or another specific age group. "It is necessary already for those parenting to have their own identity within the parish; otherwise their needs seem to be displaced within the church," said Father David Hannes, pastor. "We are making a real effort to invite parents to assume a more assertive role in the life of the parish and to be at such outings with their youth and not to depend upon other parents to chaperon. It's time for parents to step up to the plate already with such activities because by doing so, parents discover what a special blessing it is to be with their kids at parish related outings," Father Hannes added.
